Stucco is close to cement in that it is made with an aggregate, a binding agent, and water. When stucco is applied it is done in a wet condition, and when it dries it becomes very hard.
Stucco repair is important and tricky at times. There are countless products that behave differently. At times in order to get the correct finish, different additives must be added to achieve the desired look to match perfectly, which we specialize in.
What is stucco?
Stucco is a cement-based plaster that is applied over walls and other surfaces inside and outside of buildings. It is made from cement, sand, and lime and hardens into a highly durable material that requires little maintenance and can be used to obtain different textures and finishes.
Making sure you get the right contractor to perform the job is important to prevent rot. If moisture isn't allowed to escape via proper application, then it builds up, causes rot from the inside out and forces its way out any openings. Typically those openings are around doors and windows which is why stucco homes often have rot at the bottom of door and window frames.
